Substrate Cosmology studies the negative spaces between particle physics, quantum physics, chemistry, astronomy, biology, and the other mainstream sciences: the relationships that become difficult to see when each field uses its own scales, instruments, and vocabulary. It asks whether some apparent gaps are losses of dimensional detail produced by measurement and representation. In a loose exploratory sense, this is also an attempt to characterize the largely unresolved territory associated with the roughly 95% of the universe’s inferred mass-energy budget called dark matter and dark energy—not to claim that either has already been explained.
